About

Hi! I’m Katie, the founder of ShugaBeet Juice.

The idea of creating a juicing company took a while to manifest because I tend to have a million thoughts floating around in my head without a clear purpose, so it is definitely still evolving. It really began taking form when I dove into the health and wellness industry. I began doing yoga, frequented farmers markets, became a Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and found my happy place in the kitchen.

(As all great ideas begin…) I was in the midst of a juice cleanse when it hit me! I wanted to make my own unique recipes and make them more accessible by delivering them right to your door. My background in bartending has helped me to come up with different combinations and utilize ingredients that are foreign to many.

But most importantly, I wanted to support our Rhode Island (and MA & CT) farmers by using local produce as much as possible.

Where’d the name come from?

If you spend more than an hour with either me or anyone in my extended family on my mother’s side you won’t have to ask that question. We don’t really know who started it; maybe Nana Banana. Regardless, you’ll hear “OH SHUGABEET!” fifty times, if not more, at any family gathering when someone spills something, forgets to take something out of the oven, etc. So I felt it was a fitting name for my juice company.
